Pre-Piano Group Class

Prepare your child for piano lessons through our unique, play-based piano preparatory group class.

What?

This one-of-a-kind programme is specially designed for children aged 3-6, as a preparatory course to formal piano lessons. In this class, students will learn to read music, develop musicianship and fine motor skills, and learn about the wider contexts of music to make the transition onto the piano more easy and seamless. Unlike most music playgroups, this will not be a singing or instrument exploration class. It is an all-in-one theory, musicianship and music appreciation class that is conducted via games and interactive activities.

Over the years, we have noticed that one of the main contributing factors as to why children give up on the piano is that they find it too difficult. In particular, many students struggle to read music, let alone read and play at the same time.

In the hopes of making children’s lives easier, we have curated this unique programme to prepare students as thoroughly as possible before their first piano lesson. The best part about exposing children to music theory in advance is that they will not be as overwhelmed when prompted to read and play music simultaneously, as they would have already acquired fluency in score-reading. Furthermore, this programme is designed to make the music learning enjoyable, as our classes are entirely game and activity-based.

Our pre-piano group class is designed for children aged 3-6. Classes are capped at four students per session, so your child will be receiving lots of individual attention whilst having the opportunity to bond over music with children of a similar age.
